For me American football is the most boring game of all time. I even don't know the rules.

I think Soccer is popular because countries seem to strongly identify with "their team". Like in the Olympics. It's a nationalism thing. I think the game itself is boring because of the lack of scoring. Many games are 1-0 or 2-1.

That said, from the videos of Pele that I have seen, I think he is one of the greatest athletes of all time.
